World Power Solutions is a well-established, Illinois-based solar energy company specializing in both residential and commercial solar installations. We are currently seeking a licensed and experienced Solar Electrician to join our growing team of skilled technicians and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design residential and/or commercial solar PV systems using industry-standard software 

• Conduct site analysis including roof layouts, shading analysis, and electrical capacity

• Prepare detailed solar layouts, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings

• Ensure designs comply with local AHJ requirements, NEC codes, and utility standards

• Provide engineering support during permitting, installation, and inspection phases

• Collaborate with sales teams to support proposals and system optimization

• Review project changes and provide redesigns as needed

• Maintain accurate project documentation and design records Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred)

• 3+ years of experience in solar PV system design

• Proficiency in solar design tools such as Aurora, Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD, or similar

• Strong understanding of NEC, interconnection requirements, and permitting processes

• Ability to interpret structural and electrical plans

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NABCEP Certification (PV Design or PV Installation)

• Experience with both residential and commercial solar projects

• Familiarity with battery storage systems and hybrid designs

• Experience working with utility interconnection applications
