Golf Counselor – Summer 2026
Camp Chateaugay, New York
June 13– August 12, 2026
Starting at $2,500 (based on experience)

Camp Chateaugay is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Golf Counselor to lead our golf program for Summer 2026. If you love sports in general & enjoy teaching others, this is a great opportunity to spend your summer outdoors helping campers develop their skills.

Role Overview

Teach golf fundamentals including swing technique, putting, chipping, and course etiquette

Work with campers of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced players

Plan fun and engaging drills, games, and challenges

Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment

Help maintain equipment and practice areas

Assistant other specializists in other sports if there ratios are over 1:8 in such as soccer, basketball, baseball, fitness, martial arts, volleyball, yoga, lacrosse, gaga ball (no prior knowledge needed for these extra activities)

Live in a cabin with campers, serving as a mentor and role model

Be an active part of daily camp life, including evening activities and special events

Help create a fun, inclusive, and supportive camp environment

Requirements
  •  

Strong golf experience (playing and/or coaching)

Ability to teach and break down skills for beginners or advance

Experience working with children

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

A positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong teamwork skills

About Camp Chateaugay

Camp Chateaugay is a traditional summer camp dedicated to creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children. Our staff play a vital role in building a strong sense of community while helping campers grow, learn new skills, and make lifelong memories. We have over 60+ activities including glassblowing, waterskiing, horseback riding, cooking, ceramics, a ropes course, gymnastics, martial arts, soccer, tennis, and theatre. Counselors can utilize the facilities during their off time and free periods.
