Bright Skies Daycare is looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher, substitutes, and dedicated volunteers to join our team. We are a non-profit organization operated by the Eureka Early Childhood Development Organization, committed to fostering the growth and development of children and families.

Our daycare serves children from ages 0-6 and recently integrated the Experience Curriculum and Preschool Prodigies program to enhance learning across all age groups.

Now Hiring:

• Full-Time Assistant Teacher – A dedicated individual to support daily classroom activities, provide a nurturing environment, and facilitate structured learning and play.
• Substitutes – To cover staff absences due to vacations or illness.
• Volunteers – To assist with learning activities and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Job Description – Assistant & Substitute Teachers:

• Provide daily care and supervision in assigned classrooms.
• Handle child conflicts calmly and appropriately.
• Implement structured play and learning activities.
• Pay close attention to detail and adapt to various situations.
• Be punctual, reliable, and a strong communicator.
• Exhibit honesty, trustworthiness, and initiative.
• Assist with meal preparation and maintain cleanliness.

Full-Time Position Benefits:

• Starting Wage: $15 per hour (wage reevaluated after 180 days of employment).

Volunteer Opportunities:

We are seeking self-motivated volunteers to assist in various ways, both inside and outside of the classroom.

In the Classroom:

✔ Assist with art projects and developmental structured play.
✔ Prepare projects, lead storytime, and help maintain a clean and organized space.
✔ Disinfect toys and classroom materials.
✔ Support our Director and teachers with daily tasks.

Outside the Classroom:

✔ Help with craft preparation, laminating, and other organizational tasks.
✔ Assist with playground and facility maintenance.
✔ We welcome additional ideas—please don’t hesitate to share how you’d like to contribute!

Important Note: Volunteers working inside our facility and directly with children must complete a state and federal background check, including fingerprinting.

Requirements:

✔ Must be 18 years or older.
✔ Full-time: 40 hours per week (Substitutes are on an as-needed basis, with a max of 500 hours per year).
✔ Certification in Pediatric First Aid & CPR.
✔ Federal and state background check, including fingerprinting.
✔ Completion of four online training courses within 60 days (self-paced).

Bright Skies Daycare covers the cost of required training courses, provided employees remain with us for at least 180 days.
