Our innovative, nurturing Reform Jewish preschool in Brooklyn Heights is expanding. We seek a few enthusiastic, creative, and warm assistant and associate teachers for 2, 3, and 4 year-olds for the 26-27 school year.

Applicants MUST have experience with young children and a proven track record working in a collaborative, positive and supportive environment. Candidate must have at least 2 years of full-year preschool classroom experience, with an Associates or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Familiarity with Jewish Holidays is most welcome and we are also ready to teach! Familiarity and experience with Reggio Emilia, and Project Approach preferred.

Our assistant and associate teachers are full members of a team of 3 teachers to make the environment collaborative and nurturing of both children and teachers as the practice their craft. Many of our assistants go on to be head teachers and we are happy to mentor you as you grow and consider obtaining a further degree.

Teachers work through early June. Varied schedules available - all 5 days per week. Salary range is 41-49K depending on hours, title, and qualifications. Workdays for the various classes range from 8:00-12:30 to 8:15-3:30. Offers individual health insurance (employees make a small monthly contribution and BHS takes care of 90%). Teachers also have opportunities to supplement pay with work in our summer programs, enrichment classes, etc. Salary is paid over 12 months for 10 months in session. Teachers may earn an additional 4-7 K in the summer, as well. Participation in a 403B retirement plan is available.

Teachers must be able to show proof of full vaccination for COVID. We follow all DOHMH guidelines and often exceed them for safety.
