Duties

  • Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out pets, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and manage cancellations with precision.
  • Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle medical collections accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results using veterinary software.
  • Assist with kennel management by coordinating pet boarding, feeding, and basic animal husbandry tasks.
  • Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, catheterization, and aseptic techniques during procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, medication schedules, and upcoming appointments.
  • Manage laboratory samples and assist with basic laboratory procedures to support diagnostic processes.
  • Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, treatments, and clinic policies.
  • Uphold high standards of animal handling including dog training techniques and pet grooming when needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar animal care administrative role.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, critical care procedures, and animal anatomy.
  • Hands-on experience with animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet grooming is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics.
  • Kennel experience or background in animal husbandry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform medical collections accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
