Job Title: IT Support Associate 

Location: Van Nuys, CA (U.S.)

Founded in 2003, Optical Zonu Corporation (OZC) designs and manufactures high-performance digital and analog RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) transport systems supporting wireless carriers, neutral hosts, public safety networks, broadcast, satellite and government applications. Reports to: IT Manager / Production Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated, tech-savvy individual to join our IT team as a Support Associate. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for employees facing technical hurdles. 

Key Responsibilities in IT

  • Technical Support: Provide Tier 1 support for hardware (PCs, laptops, servers, Wi-Fi access points, printers) and software (Office 365, internal apps).
  • Ticket Management: Assist our help desk with hardware (computer, server, and networking). Document issues clearly and escalate complex problems to senior engineers.
  • User Onboarding: Set up workstations, configure user accounts, and assist new hires with tech orientations.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic connectivity issues, password resets, and peripheral malfunctions.
  • Asset Tracking: Help maintain an accurate inventory of company hardware and software licenses.

 

Key Responsibilities in Production

  • Perform manufacturing digital test processes.
  • Execute functional testing of product digital interfaces to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document digital interface issues during production testing.
  • Manufacturing Laser Test - Conduct incoming laser performance validation and functional testing to ensure product reliability and compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Document test results and report any non-conformities for corrective action.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Education: High school diploma required; networking and hardware certifications or training preferred. 

Knowledge: Basic understanding of Windows/macOS environments and common networking concepts (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, DNS, Hardware Components).

Soft Skills: Exceptional patience and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, hands-on experience, can-do attitude.

Problem-Solving: A natural curiosity for "how things work" and a persistence to find solutions.

 

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary: $60,000 – $75,000
