Entry-Level Merchandiser/Designer for Casual & Active Lifestyle Apparel

Expert Brand is looking for an entry-level (with some previous experience) apparel merchandiser/designer to help build assortments that resonate with Gen Z and Millennial customers, while bringing a strong understanding of technical design, fabrics, and casual lifestyle trends to help shape product direction and storytelling. 

What you’ll do

• Support seasonal assortment planning across core casual categories (colors, fits, size runs, pricing, and delivery timing).
• Track Gen Z + Millennial shopping habits and trends across social, creators, retail, and competitors—then translate insights into actionable merchandising ideas.
• Partner with the CEO to help shape product direction with a strong understanding of fabrics, construction, and technical details.
• Help keep product info accurate and customer-ready (materials, fit notes, fabric benefits, product attributes, naming).
• Assist with basic reporting and performance analysis (sell-through, margin, returns, size trends, best colors/styles).
• Support go-to-market needs like product briefs, line sheets, and key item storytelling.

What we’re looking for

• Strong understanding of Gen Z/Millennial trends and how they discover, compare, and buy apparel online and in-store.
• Real interest and working knowledge of textiles, fabric performance, and garment construction (knits vs. wovens, stretch/recovery, hand-feel, durability, breathability, moisture-wicking, etc.).
• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable—able to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable in spreadsheets and able to connect data to customer behavior.
• Clear communicator with a collaborative, learning-first mindset.

Bonus points

• Coursework/internship experience in merchandising, product development, textiles, or fashion business.
• Familiarity with PLM/PIM tools, Shopify or ecomm analytics, and retail dashboards.
• A strong point of view on casual lifestyle apparel (fits, silhouettes, styling, “why it works”).
