We are looking for you! We are immediately hiring for a Part-Time and Full Time Medical Assistant to lead our medical facility in Bowie, Maryland.

Golden Days Medical receptionist/ assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties, Medical assistants are instrumental in helping patients feel at ease in the physician’s office and often explain the physician's instructions.

Looking for a lead individual who is administratively strong with clinical skills as well. Our office is ready to take the next step with you!

A typical day of a Golden Days Medical Assistant:

  • Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
  • Taking medical histories
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Preparing patients for examinations
  • Assisting the physician during examinations
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens / urine samples
  • Performing basic laboratory tests
  • Instructing patients about medication and special diets
  • Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
  • Transmitting prescription refills as directed
  • Phlebotomy
  • Taking electrocardiograms
  • Wound care and changing dressings
  • Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
  • Using computer applications
  • Answering telephones
  • Welcoming patients
  • Updating and filing patient medical records
  • Collecting insurance information.
  • Greeting and welcoming patients.
  • Verification of insurance
  • Coding and filling out insurance forms
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping

You Must

  • Have and active and Valid License and need to provide proof of current license
  • Have a current CPR certification – need to provide proof of current certification
  • Be able to check temperature using a thermometer (Golden Days to provide training as needed)
  • Have strong English skills
  • Be able to repeatedly climb a 3-step ladder, and perform bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, squeezing, and standing for long periods of time
  • Have strong communication and customer service skills
  • Have strong technology skills (navigate cell phone or tablet & texting)
  • Social Media Skills & Great personality
