Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lawn Care Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing lawn care, aeration and over-seeding, tree and shrub care and mosquito services sold by Strong(er) Lawns. This is done by making timely lawn and landscape applications using hand and ride-on powered equipment to apply fertilizer, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.

Primary Responsibilities

• Working individually or as a crew to provide services to all properties on assigned route by using hand and powered ride-on equipment to apply nutrients, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides for optimizing the health of the lawn and ornamentals while maintaining weed and damaging insect control in the lawns and landscape.
• Comply with all state and federal regulations, company policies and procedures and guidelines for Strong(er) Lawns and Maryland Department of Agricultural services.
• Manage route by using our mobile software.
• Perform thorough inspection and evaluations of each customer properties; solve service issues by communicating agronomic advice to customers as provided by management when needed.
• Interact with customers, if/when present to determine any concerns and existing conditions.
• Conduct final inspection of lawn to ensure all work was performed correctly, completely, and granular products are blown off hard surfaces.
• Document services using mobile technology accurately and legibly.
• Maintain the company vehicles and equipment per guidelines.
• Assist with maintaining and cleaning facility, equipment, and grounds.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance as outlined in the associate handbook and follow PPE and safety regulations and work in a safe manner.
• Aerate and over-seed lawns in accordance with detailed company procedures.

Required Qualifications / Attributes

• Must obtain a Pesticide Applicator or Registered Employee certificate within 30 days of date of hire. Training provided and fees paid by Strong(er) Lawns.
• Be able to navigate a truck and trailer.
• Must be available to work from March through November.
• Be able to work between the hours of 6:30 am- 4:30 pm (or until the job is finished)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Operate company vehicle in compliance with federal, state, local laws, and company policy. Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Follow proper safety protocols while working with equipment. Driving record must pass insurability test
• Be able to drive long distances or an eight to nine-hour shift
• Must be 20 years of age or older
• 21 years of age for DOT
• Must have 3 years of driving experience (any vehicle)

Education and Experience

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of related experience in a customer service environment
• Previous lawn care experience preferred, but not mandatory
• Able to analyze situations and determine appropriate resolution
• Minimum Physical Requirements
• Position involves, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 50 pounds. Walk long distances in all weather conditions.

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
