Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions, patient education, and documentation in accordance with established plans of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Physical Therapist
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Assist with clinic flow, equipment setup, and patient safety
  • Adhere to state practice acts, payer guidelines, and clinic policies
  • Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, and therapy staff as needed

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current PTA license in the state of practice
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a full caseload in a fast-paced outpatient setting
  • Orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
  • Ability to assist patients with transfers and exercises
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
