Job Overview
We’re looking for a knowledgeable, customer‑focused Counter Salesperson to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with welding processes and equipment, and enjoys helping customers find the right tools, consumables, and solutions for their jobs.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk‑in and phone customers with welding equipment, consumables, and gas orders
• Identify parts and troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Maintain organized, well‑stocked counter displays
• Process sales transactions and prepare orders
• Build strong relationships with repeat customers
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current inventory
• Handle customer inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing clear information and support
• Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and assisting with merchandising efforts
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a positive shopping experience

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in welding, maintenance, or similar environments
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math for accurate transactions
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves and maintaining store cleanliness
• Basic understanding of retail math principles for sales calculations and inventory control
