Position Summary:

The Meat Market Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the meat department, including ordering, sales performance, scheduling, and team leadership. This position ensures that high standards of product quality, food safety, and customer service are consistently met while driving profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ordering & Inventory:
    - Place and manage weekly meat orders to maintain proper stock levels.
    - Monitor inventory, control shrink, and rotate products to ensure freshness.
  • Sales & Profitability:
    - Track weekly sales, set goals, and implement strategies to increase department performance.
    - Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and merchandising to maximize sales.
  • Team Leadership:
    - Manage, train, and motivate department staff to achieve performance and service standards.
    - Prepare and post weekly schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
    - Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations and goals.
  • Customer Service & Product Quality:
    - Oversee cutting, trimming, and preparation of meat to LBA company standards.
    - Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers.
    - Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Department Operations:
    - Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, cases, and storage.
    - Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
    - Work with store management to align department operations with LBA company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in meat cutting and meat department management required.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage inventory, orders, and sales goals.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Basic math and computer skills (scheduling, ordering, sales tracking).
  • Working knowledge of Excel, including spreadsheets, tracking, and basic reporting
  • Experience designing graphics and documents using Canva
  • Ability to create, schedule, and manage posts across social media platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
