Electrical Designer

General Overview of Position: Electrical Designer position requires an individual who is highly detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated with a desire to learn. Must be able to design and produce a full set of Electrical construction documents for commercial construction.

Required Competencies:

• Strong computer skills (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc…)
• Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
• Experience with NEC code and power company ESS
• Analytical Thinking. This refers to your ability to apply logic to solve problems and to get the job done, Client Service, Creative Thinking, Forward Thinking, Conceptual Thinking, Conflict Resolution, Decision Making, Communication, Leadership, and Teamwork
• Fluent English Speaking REQUIRED.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
• Electrical Load Calculations
• Single One-Line Diagrams
• Lighting layouts
• Power and Receptacle layouts
• Site lighting and power plans
• Photometric studies
• Set up drawing files and architectural backgrounds to company standards.
• Draft technical details.
• Create and store drawings electronically.
• Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications

Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience required performing electrical design and/or drafting
• Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD
• The ability to read blueprints
• Job duties will be to draft construction documents from conceptual designs to final products.
