This is a position to start in February 2026. Paid, asynchronous training to be completed prior to start.

Are you a theatre artist that loves working with kids? Or maybe you're an education student with a flair for the dramatic? The Drama Spot is looking for a high energy drama teacher for our in-school and after-school theatre classes, delivering a soft-skills focused curriculum developed just for The Drama Spot. As a Drama Spot teacher, you will be responsible for a slate of classes each week. You will be expected to prepare and deliver our standard curriculum, adapting it as needed for your individual rosters. You will maintain regular communication with the parents/guardians of your assigned students and address their questions and concerns in a reasonable time frame. You will deliver instruction at our partner sites in and around Austin. You will be an excellent role model for your students and a stellar representative of The Drama Spot when interacting with the staff and families at our partner sites. This position has a large opportunity for the right candidate to grow with the business.

About The Drama Spot:

The Drama Spot a one-of-a-kind educational theatre program, offering extra-curricular drama classes to ages 2-17 at partner schools and daycares in the midwest and central Texas. Unlike typical theatre classes, The Drama Spot does not focus on a production or specific performance opportunity. Instead, our standard-aligned curriculum uses theatre as a tool to develop each person, instead of the other way around. At The Drama Spot, we know that the art, practice, and joy of theatre belongs to everyone. Young, old, outgoing, shy, out-of-the-box, literal... and everything in between. Our classes follow a fun and reliable process, allowing new participants to easily join in at any time. As a new business, we are expanding rapidly. There is incredible growth potential for the right candidate.

About You:

You adore children and have experience working with students (ages 2+). What's more, kids seem to always love being around you! You bring an infectious energy and always prioritize the students over the lesson. You have a passion for theatre education and understand what theatre can offer students. You know that theatre is first and foremost a team sport, and we all win when we all have fun. You are punctual, responsible, creative, and a team player. You are available some/most weekday mornings (roughly 8am-11am) and/or afternoons (3pm-5pm) and can manage reliable transportation to, from, and between locations. You are CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to become so) and can pass a background check.
