Part-Time Gallery Assistant Job Description
Anne Irwin Fine Art is seeking a part-time gallery assistant to work at the gallery with a small team of three, Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm, with some additional hours requested in advance when needed. We are looking for an organized, efficient, quick learner who can easily float from task to task. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter who could easily cooperate with our team, adapt to accommodate daily priorities, and effectively meet the following needs and responsibilities listed below. Other desired skills would be proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva, and social media fluency.

Responsibilities

• Sending artwork images and follow-up emails to clients who have requested information.
• Adding inventory into Artcloud (our gallery maintenance platform) for new inventory arrivals from gallery artists.
• Taking additional images of new artwork that arrives for artist shows/releases. Photoshop editing these images for the website and additional images.
• Wrapping purchased artwork for pick-up for both local and long-distance couriers.
• Scheduling shipments of artwork via FedEx’s online system.
• Tidying the gallery morning, afternoon, and after clients visit to maintain the gallery's appearance.
• Assisting with gallery show preparation, including spackling, painting, hanging, lighting, and labelling artwork for shows and gallery maintenance.
• Assist in writing thank you notes to clients for artwork purchased.
• Assist with editing photo and video content for gallery marketing.
• Comfortability with moving, handling, and packaging of paintings weighing up to 40 lbs.

Other Desired Skills

• Proficiency in Canva
• Comfortable working in full Adobe Suite
• Fluency in social media platforms (specifically Instagram)
