We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for young children. This role is vital in fostering a positive, engaging, and safe environment for students across various early childhood settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childhood development, experience working with children, and a strong commitment to nurturing young learners' growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs through attentive caregiving and positive behavior management.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation.
  • Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic infant/toddler care as needed.
  • Support classroom management strategies to promote respectful behavior and active participation.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health and safety protocols diligently.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and needs.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
  • Childcare certifications such as First Aid or CPR are advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification .
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Compassionate, patient, organized, and proactive in supporting children's learning environments.
