Lube Tech
Position Summary
As an experienced Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing essential maintenance and repairs on our fleet of multi-axle heavy haul trucks and trailers. This position requires hands-on technical expertise to conduct routine and preventative maintenance, ensuring the vehicles operate safely and efficiently while adhering to safety regulations. You will contribute directly to the reliability of our operations and have opportunities to grow your skills within the team.
Essential Duties
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication of vehicle components, inspections to ensure optimal performance, and diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, such as brake and trailer lights.
• Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders and parts usage, to support fleet reliability.
• Collaborate with the Shop Manager and parts department to ensure timely availability of supplies and parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to support operational efficiency.
• Regular and predictable attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position, as it is essential for maintaining operational continuity, fostering effective teamwork, and upholding safety standards. Consistent presence enables the timely completion of repairs and projects, ensuring we meet customer commitments and maintain the high-quality service our clients expect.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Address driver-reported defects promptly, documenting all maintenance performed before vehicles are returned to service.
• Support ongoing safety initiatives by ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations during maintenance activities.
• Operate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (FMCSA, DOT, OSHA) during maintenance activities, including documenting all maintenance and repairs performed on driver-reported defects.

Minimum Qualifications
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools is required.
• 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance preferred; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
• Self-motivated with dependable attendance and a strong work ethic, capable of working independently without regular management oversight.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test in compliance with DOT regulations/company policy.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and grow in the position.
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
• Understanding of FMCSA compliance and DOT regulations related to vehicle maintenance.
• Vocational or technical certification in diesel mechanics or automotive technology is preferred.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and using diagnostic software.

• Excellent communication skills for working with the Shop Manager and fleet drivers.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the shop team.

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational certification in diesel mechanics or automotive technology preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts (up to 50 pounds), standing, kneeling, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods, as well as the ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
