About Us: We are a vibrant Ghanaian United Methodist congregation located in Verona, New Jersey, seeking a skilled and committed Organist/Pianist to support our worship services and rehearsals during the month of December. This temporary role has the potential to develop into a long-term relationship for the right musician.

Position Overview: The Organist/Pianist will provide musical accompaniment for worship services, choir rehearsals, and praise team sessions. Applicants must be experienced with and able to play in a Ghanaian worship style, including traditional Methodist hymns, contemporary praise, and Ghanaian gospel rhythms.

Responsibilities:

• Provide organ/piano accompaniment for Sunday Divine Worship Service
• Support the choir and praise team during rehearsals
• Sight-read and perform hymns, anthems, canticles, and Ghanaian gospel music
• Collaborate closely with worship leaders and music ministry teams
• Arrive punctually and prepared for all scheduled sessions

December Schedule Includes:

• Saturday, December 6 – Choir Rehearsal | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Sunday, December 7 – Divine Service | 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Additional December dates to be discussed during interview.

Qualifications: Proficient in playing the organ and/or piano

Required:

• Ability to play confidently in a Ghanaian worship style
• Ability to accompany choirs and praise teams
• Prior church music experience strongly preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and collaborative

Compensation: Competitive per diem pay based on New Jersey standards. Rate discussed during the interview
