Resident Manager

Mercy’s Shore is a faith-based, non-profit organization located in Dallas, Texas. Its mission is to reunite children and their mothers in a residential, unapologetically Christ-centered program. We are looking for just the right person to serve as the resident manager for the program. 

Qualifications required of the right person:

  • Mature, adult woman
  • Have a desire to serve “the least of these”
  • Be a godly example for the women
  • Understand and be able to consistently apply trauma-informed theory with respect to the mothers and the children
  • Have a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Reliable personal transportation for personal activities
  • Ability to effectively and safely operate a 15-passenger van (you will be included on Mercy’s Shore motor vehicle insurance coverage)
  • Supervise curfew for the participants each evening
  • Be available by phone for communication with participants overnight and on weekends
  • Provide transportation to participants in the 15-passenger van to:
  • the grocery store
  • children’s school/daycare
  • doctor/dentist/pediatrician appointments
  • Wednesday evening Life Recovery class
  • Sunday morning worship service 
  • off campus classes and/or training
  • Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Amenities:

  • A 700 square-foot one-bedroom apartment with rent, utilities, and internet included 
  • Ability to work from or study at home would be ideal for the right person.

Clientele served:

  • Mothers with history of trauma who voluntarily participate in the program
  • Children from birth through 12 years of age at the time of admission

Duties 

  • Oversee leasing activities including property tours, application processing, and lease signing using property management software such as Yardi and OneSite  
  • Ensure compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing laws, and other relevant regulations 
  • Manage resident relations through conflict resolution, negotiation, and excellent customer service 
  • Administer legal documentation related to landlord-tenant law and lease contracts 
  • Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate maintenance requests with facilities management teams using CMMS systems 
  • Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record keeping for property files and contracts 
  • Upsell additional services or amenities to residents to enhance occupancy rates and resident satisfaction 
  • Coordinate with leasing agents for property leasing efforts and sales initiatives 
  • Maintain office operations including phone etiquette, customer relationship management, and administrative support 
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and manage conflict management issues within the community 

Experience 

  • Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a focus on residential properties 
  • Familiarity with LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law 
  • Experience using property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms 
  • Background in legal administrative tasks related to leases, contracts, and compliance documentation 
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management effectively 
  • Knowledge of property maintenance coordination and facilities management practices 
  • Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions 
  • Excellent negotiation skills along with experience in sales or upselling services within a property setting 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining professionalism in all interactions
