Charlton Kennels on Sauvie Island is seeking energetic people to work part time to full days. Approximately 3-4, 9.5 hour days. At least one weekend day/part or full day included is preferable. Experience in animal field preferred but being energetic and willing to learn is essential!

We are a family run business on beautiful Sauvie Island, just outside of Portland. Job includes greeting clients and their pets, Check-ins and Check-outs, phone and email reservations, light maintenance of reception areas, animal care and cleaning animal bedding. Of course, you should enjoy dogs--walking and playing with them. Helps to have good customer communication skills--friendly and polite. Should have a neat, casual, yet professional appearance. We are a large facility plus large farm grounds for walking dogs so be ready for lots of exercise! We also have a cozy break room for catching your breath and taking breaks.

We have some flexibility on scheduling. We are open 9-6 every day except major holidays. Our facilities are beautiful and the staff is fun and caring. We have great clients and lot of really nice pups staying here. Many of the pups boarding here don't do well in dog daycare situations. They rely on sensitive and understanding humans to care for them. Each dog (or family of dogs) enjoys their own, private kennel space withone on one human time of play and walks.
