Maintenance Supervisor – University Partners (Tempe, AZ)

University Partners manages dynamic, student-centered communities across the country, and we’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Tempe team. If you enjoy working with your hands, leading a crew, solving problems on the fly, and keeping a community running smoothly, this role might be your sweet spot.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be the go-to person for all things maintenance across the community. Your days will include:

• Overseeing and training the maintenance team
• Prioritizing and scheduling work orders
• Preparing apartments for new move-ins
• Ensuring routine maintenance is completed within 24 hours
• Keeping common areas, amenities, and grounds clean and functional
• Managing inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships
• Performing regular inspections across the property
• Maintaining pool equipment, irrigation, and mechanical systems
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
• Providing excellent service to residents and supporting the Community Manager

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience in general maintenance (2–3 years preferred)
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic construction
• HVAC certification
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to lead, train, and coordinate a small team
• Solid time-management and organization habits
• Ability to lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors
• Basic computer skills for logging work and updating systems
• A steady, dependable personality — even when things get busy

What the Work Environment Looks Like
This role is active and hands-on. You’ll be working indoors, outdoors, around equipment, in changing weather, and occasionally in tight spaces. Weekend or on-call hours may be required.
