We're excited to hire a Payroll Clerk for a full-time role (40 hours/week, remotely). Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in processing payroll for our staff, including property managers, maintenance teams, and administrative personnel. This position is perfect for someone with a knack for numbers and a passion for supporting people through accurate, timely pay. Key Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for 50+ employees using payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Verify timesheets, overtime, bonuses, and deductions (including benefits, taxes, and garnishments) for accuracy before final processing.
Maintain employee payroll records, update changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, promotions), and distribute pay stubs and tax documents (W-2s, 1099s).
Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end closings and audits.
Collaborate with HR and property operations teams to resolve payroll discrepancies, such as shift differentials for on-site staff or vendor reimbursements.
Generate reports on payroll metrics, labor costs, and benefits utilization to support budgeting and forecasting for property portfolios.
Ensure confidentiality and data security in handling sensitive financial information.
Stay current on payroll laws and best practices, providing guidance to team members as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
1-3 years of payroll processing experience (property management or multi-site operations a plus).
Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with HRIS integrations is a bonus.
Strong attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Discreet, ethical approach to handling confidential data; basic knowledge of labor laws (e.g., FLSA, state wage requirements).
Team player with solid communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
