The Farmers Market Assistant & Sales Fulfillment role supports daily market operations, customer service, product sales, and merchandising. This role helps ensure a smooth and successful market experience—from setting up the booth to processing customer orders and maintaining product quality. Ideal candidates are friendly, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

As part of an Indian fusion food brand, you will help introduce customers to bold flavors and innovative products inspired by Indian cuisine with a modern twist.

Key Responsibilities

• Booth Setup & Breakdown
• Transport and set up market equipment including tents, tables, signage, and display materials
• Ensure safe and visually appealing merchandising of products
• Maintain a clean and organized booth throughout the market day
• Sales & Customer Service
• Greet customers and provide knowledgeable product information
• Operate point-of-sale systems (Square or similar)
• Upsell and promote featured items to drive sales
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately
• Product Handling & Food Safety
• Assist with portioning samples and serving products in compliance with health regulations
• Follow safe food handling practices, temperature controls, and sanitation guidelines
• Restock products and maintain freshness throughout the market day
• Sales Fulfillment & Operations
• Assist with order prep and packaging for both on-site and pre-ordered products
• Track product counts and support post-market inventory reports
• Support transportation, loading/unloading of products, and equipment maintenance
• Brand Representation
• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor aligned with the company’s mission
• Share product story and engage customers to build brand loyalty
• Represent the passion and personality behind our Indian fusion flavors

Qualifications

• Customer service or retail experience preferred (food sales a plus)
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and work outdoors for several hours
• Comfortable working weekends and flexible to market scheduling needs
• Must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
• Reliable transportation required
