Brightstarz health services is seeking motivated and compassionate mental health student interns to join our behavioral health team. This internship offers hands-on experience in outpatient mental health services, providing an excellent learning opportunity for students pursuing a degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.

Interns will work alongside licensed professionals and gain practical skills in clinical support, case management, client engagement, and program coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with intake and psychosocial assessments under supervision.
  • Support clinicians with treatment planning and progress monitoring.
  • Observe and co-facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Provide case management support, including resource coordination and follow-up.
  • Document session notes and case activities in compliance with agency standards (with supervision).
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, trainings, and supervision.
  • Engage in outreach, education, and wellness initiatives to support clients and the community.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule (hours flexible based on program requirements).
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in outpatient behavioral health services.
  • Must be able to work in a professional and confidential manner.
  • School internship or practicum approval preferred.
