Job description:  Animal Care Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to handle various breeds of dogs in a kennel environment. This role is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals in our care. We have 1 opening for morning shift(6a-1p), and 1 opening for evening shift(12p-6p). 

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennel facilities by regularly cleaning and disinfecting animal enclosures.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person
• Assist with animal restraint during baths, nail trims, etc.
• Ensure that all animals are provided with fresh water and proper nutrition.
• Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians when necessary.
• Ensuring pets are clean and well-groomed.
• Assist with intake and discharge procedures for boarding animals.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any observed changes in behavior or health.

Requirements

• Experience in dog handling or animal care is preferred.
• Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and handling protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members effectively.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of working with animals throughout the day, including lifting and restraining larger breeds if necessary.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
• Must be personable and trustworthy
