Training is provided. This is a full-time entry-level position within our Underwriting Commercial Auto and Garage Liability Underwriting Team. About the Role:

The primary job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited 
to, ensuring that exceptional customer service is provided to our agents and policyholders, handling new business submissions, reviewing, completing, and sending binding orders that confirm acceptability, classification, exposure, and pricing. Ascendant's underwriter is responsible for reviewing incoming submissions for class code acceptability, analyze the risk, and process the agent binder requests. Ensure that all required documents are attached to the binding order and down payment is received. Review and process the incoming endorsements , cancellations and follow up on suspense items within 24 hours of receipt. Assigned daily tasks at a minimum of 50 tasks daily.
 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in working with insurance - personal or commercial automobile, trucking, and transportation business is a plus. 
  • Ability to maintain a clean email inbox.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to respond within 24 hours to incoming submission requests, endorsements, and cancellation requests.
  • Proficient with computers, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office.
  • Possesses technical problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined. Strong organizational, oral, and 
    written communication skills. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to work within a team environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with the agents and policyholders.
