Job Overview
This is a key, leadership pharmacy technician role. Essential demonstration of professionalism, detail-orientation, and committment to following all issues from beginning to end is vital.

  • Must empahsize the value of getting patients their drugs and overcoming all barriers of access that arise. It is essential that the Pharmacy Tech communicates with all patients and documentes each communication.
  • You will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists and the team in delivering superior, patient oriented care in a close-knit community setting.
  • This position requires strong communication skills, commitment to service, and the ability to work effeciently & precisely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must meticulously monitor reimbursements and address how to decrease losses.

Duties

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, immunizations, and other critical care treatments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication administration logs, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and regulations.
  • Ensure the safe preparation of products.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support medication therapy management.
  • Monitor inventory levels of medications and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations and patient safety.
  • Committed to the highest, consistient, standards
  • Follows laws, supports (and develops) compliance, regularly acts as a leader, reports, anad more.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, specialty medication packaging of complex regimens.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate with patients and healthcare providers. Always documents all interactions.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to medication administration and patient care.
  • Supports each individual patient in their goals and does all possible to make every patients medication regimen and plan as smooth, individualized, and personalized as possible.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while consistient attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess situations and make informed decisions regarding medication management.

Immunizations

  • If you have your immunization certificate, it's a plus and your pay will be started at the higher end of the scale. If you are not an immunizing pharmacy technician, we will help you become certified.

Additional Areas that will start you on the higher end of the pay scale

  • Action oriented, immediate problem solving (self-initiated learning and enactment in some cases).
  • Medical billing (DME, non-DME, etc), DSHS, Medicare, commercial, L&I.
  • Compliance Experience (contract drafting, evaluations)
  • Leadership/management
  • Medicare, Medicaid, use of ProviderOne
  • Writing & updating policies/procedures/licensing/contracts/etc
  • Recurring certification renewals for the business
  • Internal Audits (Money management) & External Audits (such as PBMs)

General Requirements

  • Current, Unrestricted WA Pharmacy Technician License
  • Contributes feedback to managment and is active in continual process improvement
  • Contributes in the addition of new services and ideas and stays motivated & active
  • Immediate action orientation, acts with a sense of urgency
  • Up to date with all laws
  • Uplifting to the pharmacy and team environment with positivity & committed to no gossip policy, HIPAA, and all privacy protections

Overall

  • Store hours are M-F 9 am till 6pm & Sat 10 am till 5 pm
  • Technician Schedule: Flexible. Ideally M-F 9 am till 5 pm & occassional Saturdays.
  • Regular meetings, performance evaluations, communication, accuracy and precision in preforming tasks are required. In addition, the candidate must strive to build the business and adapt with kindness and flexibility. The candidate will need to adhere to feedback, high standards, and policies and procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.50 - $31.00 per hour
