About The Podcast
The Welfare Check Podcast is a bold, unfiltered platform that merges raw conversation, real stories, and cultural truth. We discuss everything from healing and hustle to relationships, growth, and the reality of the “check you cash and the check you need.” The podcast is currently in the pre-launch stage, with its official debut scheduled soon. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the show from the ground up.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Podcast Intern to support the development and growth of The Welfare Check Podcast before and after launch. This internship offers hands-on experience in podcast production, marketing, and brand development ̶ perfect for someone interested in media, content creation, or entertainment management.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with pre-production: research topics, guests, and cultural trends relevant to upcoming episodes
• Support recording sessions: setting up equipment, testing audio, lighting, and cameras in studio
• Help with post-production: organize clips, label files, and assist with editing or transcription
• Create and schedule social media content (reels, quotes, snippets, teasers) across platforms
• Assist with guest coordination, scheduling, and communications
• Maintain studio organization and assist with event preparation (e.g. launch parties, live tapings)
• Support marketing initiatives including brand collaborations, sponsorship decks, and listener engagement
Ideal Candidate
• Passionate about podcasts, pop culture, social media, and storyteling
• Strong communication and organizational skils
• Creative eye for aesthetics and digital content
• Experience with or interest in audio/video editing tools (Canva, CapCut, Adobe,
GarageBand, etc.)• Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube)
• Positive, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, creative environment
