Public Works Laborer - Full-Time Permanent Position

Upper Pottsgrove Township is seeking a full time, permanent Laborer to join the Public Works Department. This position is full time 7am to 4pm, Monday through Thursday and 7am to 11am Friday with rotating weekends on call. Public Works Laborers perform a variety of tasks that change daily, including road repairs, debris collection, grass cutting, snow removal, and operating heavy equipment. If you do not have a CDL license, you will be required to obtain one within 1 year of date of hire. Township will assist with acquiring CDL. Work may occur in all weather conditions and in buildings without climate control.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance, including roadwork, landscaping, debris and snow removal
• Operate and maintain equipment and vehicles
• Assist with general repairs and upkeep within the township

Requirements:

• Must have valid driver’s license and able to pass drug and background checks
• CDL preferred, not required for hire, but will need to be obtained within 1 year of date of hire. Township will assist with acquiring CDL
• Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks
• Prior experience in plumbing, landscaping, electrical work, or general maintenance is a plus but not required
• Training and certifications will be provided as needed

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $25 - $27 (rate negotiable depending on experience)
