We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and enhance their overall quality of life. 

Duties

  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with diverse needs, including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist during treatment sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes in both clinic and home health settings.
  • Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols while providing care to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles related to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, and outpatient settings.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and transferring patients safely.
  • Experience in discharge planning is a plus but not required.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate patient care while fostering a positive therapeutic environment.

In this setting, PTAs work under the supervision of physical therapists to implement treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function.
