SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN POSITION
We are seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to support the planning, execution, and analysis of author Lauren Peacock. The intern will assist in creating engaging content, monitoring performance, and fostering community interaction across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, and Goodreads This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional eager to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, publishing, and audience engagement.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Scheduling
Assist with drafting, editing, and publishing social media posts.
Source, design, and edit images, graphics, and short-form videos.
Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting across platforms.
Community Engagement
Monitor comments, messages, and mentions, and respond in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
Track trending hashtags, challenges, and conversations relevant to our brand.
Support interactive campaigns (polls, giveaways, Q&As).
Analytics & Reporting
Assist in tracking engagement, reach, and growth metrics.
Provide weekly updates with recommendations for improving performance.
Research & Ideation
Stay up to date on social media trends, competitor activity, and best practices.
Contribute fresh ideas for campaigns and storytelling formats.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, communications, journalism, etc
Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with major social media platforms and emerging digital trends.
Basic knowledge of design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) preferred.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team.
Time Commitment & Compensation
Duration: ASAP-December 2025
Hours: 10-15 hours per week, flexible around school schedules
Compensation: Unpaid (Academic credit or professional experience credit)
