Position: Driver and Logistics Coordinator

Main Location Facility: Brooklyn, NY (with travel out of state) 

Reports to: BSCC President

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 6am- 2pm; 40 hours per week (some evenings/weekends may be required) NonExempt

About the Position

Brooklyn SolarWorks is seeking a professional and punctual individual to occupy its Driver and Logistics Coordinator position. The incumbent will mainly be responsible for making deliveries, preparing deliveries and supporting the warehouse team with organizing, inventory management and cleaning. A large component of the job is the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles. As such, a valid driver’s license and a demonstrated history of responsible driving are required. Brooklyn SolarWorks considers applicants consistent with the requirements of Article 23-A of the New York Correction Law.

Responsibilities:

• Make deliveries throughout NYC and the Tri-State area. 
• Prepare deliveries - requires using power tools including saws, drills, impact drivers.  
• Read and understand architectural drawings. 
• Organize and record inventory on a weekly basis using company CRM. 
• Support in the ordering and receiving of inventory.  
• Drive forklift. 
• Support warehouse cleanliness - organizing, waste management, sweeping, etc. 
• Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods and material.
• Carry out additional duties as required by the BSCC Pres,  VP Installations, or Warehouse Manager

Required Skill Set

• Highschool diploma required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• A clean driving record is required.
• Multi years of driving experience required. 
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency using navigation apps.
• Forklift certification is required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Must have or obtain DOT Medical Card immediately (within one week of start date)
• Ability to drive Class 3 and 4 Medium Duty Trucks. 
• Physically able to lift 50lbs or more.
• Required to stand, drive or walk for long periods at a time.
• Team-oriented and friendly disposition.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours.
• Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision.
• Punctuality, Good Attendance and Time Management skills are required.
• Familiarity with basic power tools is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Skill Set

• A passion for Brooklyn SolarWorks mission.
• Experience driving a forklift is preferred.
• OSHA 40 is preferred.
