OFFICE COORDINATOR & DESIGN LEAD

Full Time
30-40 Hours per Week
Monday to Friday 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM

Position Summary: The office coordinator and creative lead will bring a mix of customer service and digital art/ marketing. This role will inspire more creative ideas for our customers and business. The creative lead will have an eye for design and be a prolific generator of dynamic ideas that connect with all types of audiences. The office coordinator also ensures the timely and accurate production of printed materials; coordinates production of work orders, reviews materials and distributes work assignments to employees; determines equipment repair schedule; maintains supply inventory. Supervise prototypes, mock-ups, printer proofs and electronic templates. Perform with finance on budgeting, estimates and cost analysis of actual product compared to proposed project. Participate in vendor as well as technology investigations. Participate in weekly project status meetings. Provide print production quality assurance and review entire work from concept to delivery.

Job Duties:
- Customer Service
- Greet patrons upon entering, and assisting them with their needs in a timely and courteous manner
- Provide basic assistance to patrons and direct them to the best of your ability
- Maintain a clean, productive, and welcoming space
- Must be friendly and willing to assist with problem-solving
- Printing digital solutions for customers
- Finishing work for printing jobs (i.e. binding, gluing, folding)
- Developing or acquiring the images used in a variety of creative projects including advertisements, brochures, catalogs, direct mail, packaging, presentations, websites, promotional displays and signage
- Responsible for design, layout and formatting of materials
- Must have a strong sense of concept development in addition to communication, research, problem solving and presentation skills
- Graphic design development of creative strategies
- Must have strong customer service skills in order to execute both internal and external client’s design initiatives
- Ensures proper formatting and alignment of files for print.
- Operates high volume equipment; serves as Key Operator, identifies equipment problems, performs minor repairs to equipment or arranges for repair service.
- Schedules and prioritizes work assignments for staff.
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.
- Navigate POS (Square) system in lobby as well as online invoicing system for clients
- Understand and operate the computers, printing machines, faxing, and finishing production
- Operate the cash register including cash sales, card and check sales
- Record all money transactions in the Copy Center
- Troubleshoot all equipment including clearing copier paper jams, changing ink, cartridges and toner, and occasionally communicating technical issues to copier technical support
- Monitor and report inventory, supplies and ordering needs to Owner
- Maintain a strong professional relationship with clients, staff, vendors
- Open & close up the shop, securing alarm system and locking all doors/gates.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/owner

Job Requirements:
• MUST have experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop..)
• 1-2 years of Design/Print experience
• 1-2 years of management experience
• Be comfortable working on Windows computers and operating systems
• Strong problem-solving and organization skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and life experiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferences:
• Knowledge of USPS Mailing Practices
• Experience running industrial printers and imposition softwares
• Degree(s) in Art or Design
• Experience in small business management
• Experience living in Humboldt County and insight on how our small community functions
