Behavioral Initiatives is a family-owned company based in Pembroke Pines, FL, with a mission to provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges.

Our new Microschool is a dynamic, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We focus on small class sizes, individualized instruction, and strong collaboration among educators, therapists, and families.

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Teacher’s Aide to support the Lead Teacher in our microschool classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team creating a student-centered learning environment from the ground up. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and eager to contribute to a nurturing and structured setting where every child is supported and celebrated.

Status: Part Time (25 Hours weekly)– In Person

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Teacher in managing a class of up to six students (ages 5–10) at a 3:1 student-to-staff ratio
  • Assist in delivering individualized and group instruction
  • Implement behavior support strategies under the guidance of BCBAs and RBTs
  • Facilitate transitions, classroom routines, and activities of daily living
  • Help collect data on academic and behavioral progress
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children (required)
  • Experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)  (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework in education, psychology, or a related field is a plus
  • Calm, patient, and dependable with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) is a plus
  • RBT certification a plus 
  • Training and certification support available for candidates not yet certified
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a multidisciplinary environment

    Extended Opportunity:

Teacher’s Aides will also have the opportunity to earn additional income as an RBT by providing 1:1 ABA therapy sessions after school hours and on non-operational school days (aligned with the Broward County Schools calendar), paid hourly. This is an excellent option for those interested in growing their experience in ABA and supplementing their income.
