Position Overview:
Legacy Remediation's Benicia office is seeking full-time (40+ hrs/week) field staff to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for environmental science, engineering, or geology, as well as those looking to apply their mechanical trade skills. Whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced technician, this is a great opportunity to apply your knowledge in real-world environmental remediation projects, with room for professional growth.

This is a field-based position working at industrial sites in standard Level D PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.), performing a mix of equipment operation and manual labor to prepare and apply remediation compounds for injection into aquifers to treat contaminated groundwater. Typical workdays are Mon-Friday and they begin at our office around 5:00 AM and may end around 5:00 PM depending on project location and traffic, with frequent opportunities for overtime and double-time.

Most of our projects are located in the bay area, though some travel (~10-25%) is required to support projects throughout the state. We invite applicants with relevant field experience or a desire to learn and grow within the following services:

  • In-Situ Remediation
  • Direct Push Drilling
  • Advanced Site Characterization

Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate and maintain pumps, generators, and drilling equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project goals
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance at all times
  • Travel to support out-of-town projects as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no excessive tickets or major violations)
  • Willingness to obtain a commercial driver’s license (Class A) within one year of employment
  • Pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen
  • Basic mechanical skills with a talent for troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating Direct Push Rigs (e.g., Geoprobe)
  • Experience in performing in-situ remediation methods (ISCO, ISCR, ERD, BIO, etc.)
  • Commercial Driver’s License (Class A)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (training provided if needed)
  • Recent graduate with a degree in geology, environmental science, or engineering
