We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our small team in the Chicagoland vicinity. The service team is responsible for in-house repairs of plastic welding equipment as well as on-site installations and phone support for our customers throughout North America. Although the Service Technician position is intended to primarily be shop based, occasional travel may be necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Troubleshoot and repair handheld welding and testing equipment
 Provide customer technical support via phone and/or email
 Process work orders, enter data into software, and email repair estimates to customers
 Complete supplier warranty claim paperwork
 Testing and assembling new equipment
 Training customers on diagnosis and repair procedures
 Provide assistance with training seminars and customer specific training as needed
 Serve as back-up for shipping and receiving
 Organize, clean, maintain workshop for optimal production flow
 Understand and use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
 Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 High School Diploma required
 Technical training or some college preferred
 Good mechanical capability and general understanding of electronic components
 Use of shop hand tools, power tools, and gauges
 Basic computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills
 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The Service Technician position is non-supervisory, requiring no managerial responsibilities. Our service technicians report to and receive instruction from Liz Turner.
