We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our small team in the Chicagoland vicinity. The service team is responsible for in-house repairs of plastic welding equipment as well as on-site installations and phone support for our customers throughout North America. Although the Service Technician position is intended to primarily be shop based, occasional travel may be necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot and repair handheld welding and testing equipment
Provide customer technical support via phone and/or email
Process work orders, enter data into software, and email repair estimates to customers
Complete supplier warranty claim paperwork
Testing and assembling new equipment
Training customers on diagnosis and repair procedures
Provide assistance with training seminars and customer specific training as needed
Serve as back-up for shipping and receiving
Organize, clean, maintain workshop for optimal production flow
Understand and use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required
Technical training or some college preferred
Good mechanical capability and general understanding of electronic components
Use of shop hand tools, power tools, and gauges
Basic computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The Service Technician position is non-supervisory, requiring no managerial responsibilities. Our service technicians report to and receive instruction from Liz Turner.
