Assistant II

A new certified family child care home in NE Portland is hiring for a caregiver assistant 1 position.


 

Job Summary

Assistant II duties will include engaging with children during a variety of activities, including art, music, play, reading, napping assistance, meal preparation, outdoor activities, diapering, changing clothes and daily cleaning of the child care space. Direct and indirect supervision of one or two Assistant I childcare providers. 

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with the children and monitoring their environment for safety.
  • Feeding
  • Diapering
  • Cooking
  • Cleaning


 

Requirement before Hiring

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Registration in the Oregon Central Background Registry through the Department Of Early Learning.
  • Have current CPR certification in first aid and pediatric CPR. This must be a CPR course with practical hands-on instruction. Example: Bridgetown Training Solutions, 7931 SE King Rd, #2, Portland, OR, 97222, ---------, ------------ offers a course that is part online and part in person that counts towards this certification. Cost will be reimbursed to you. 


 

Requirement to Obtain upon Hiring, Assistance Provided

  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid 
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect: RRCAN
  • Health and Safety Training
  • Sleep Training
  • Foundations for Learning Training
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers
  • Formal Early Childhood Education Courses in process or ECE degree obtained.


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clock hours specific to infant and toddler care
  • Manager Team Lead Experience a Plus
