We are looking for a charismatic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to become an integral part of our care team. We would love to hire a prospective med student or PA student looking for work/experience during their gap year! 

Job Requirements: The MA will assist the physician and other colleagues in every step of the patient experience. We expect the MA to perform the following duties:

• Scribe the patient encounter in its entirety directly in the EMR, including, but not limited to:
• Chief complaint
• Past medical/social/family history
• Review of systems
• Physical exam
• Assessment/plan
• Prescriptions
• Educational material
• Consents
• Procedures
• Answer and record phone messages and prescription refill requests within the appropriate timeframe.
• Assist with necessary Prior Authorizations, patient letters and physician referrals and keep patient apprised of the process and timeline.
• Submit, track and follow up laboratory and pathology results
• Setup and assist the physician with in-office procedures, as well as understand and be able to explain procedures to patients:
• Biopsies
• Laser treatments
• Excisions
• Microneedling
• Other skin cancer treatments
• Injections
• Suture removal and wound care
• Keep patient portal information updated for each patient encounter

Job Expectations:

• Proficient in dermatologic terminology and prescription names/abbreviations or be a very fast learner in this sector.
• Maintain updated certifications and continuing medical education
• Follow company, state and federal policies
• Work seamlessly in a team environment
