About Tucker’s Tap Yard:

Tucker’s Tap Yard is the first private indoor/outdoor off-leash dog yard and bar in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Located in downtown’s Industry Hill, Tucker’s customers get untethered from the confines of daily life while dogs and their best friends have a spot to relax, socialize, and enjoy a cold beverage. Tucker’s also offers self-washes, events and a private party space. With our beloved dog as the namesake, Tucker’s has all the makings of a great time for our staff and customers.

Job Description:

The Yard Ranger’s primary responsibility is to maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere for Tucker’s members, their dogs and their guests by keeping the Yard safe, clean, and welcoming. Safety and cleanliness of our facility is critical. Yard Rangers go through in-depth training to ensure their understanding of our facility policies and procedures and to become an expert on dog body language and behavior.

Job Duties/Qualifications:

· A passion for dogs with an ability to engage and interact with dogs of all sizes, breeds and activity levels

· Interest in dog behavior and a willingness to learn/be trained in order to monitor interactions between dogs, read dog body language and energy of the play areas and pro-actively intervene/redirect or eject dogs, when necessary

· Willingness to learn and use only positive reinforcement and fear free methods when working with and handling dogs

· Provide excellent customer service to each guest including assistance during entry/exit for new dogs, dog waste clean-up, diffusing conflict between pet parents and engaging with our guests while on-site

· Able to perform basic cleaning/maintenance including picking up debris, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, refilling water bowls & mop buckets, cleaning up dog waste, managing slip risks & other safety hazards, re-setting tables & seating areas as they are vacated by wiping down/replacing chairs, & bathroom maintenance

· Able to work cohesively with others in a rewarding, fun and fast-paced environment

· Perform other duties, as assigned

Physical capabilities:

· Able to be on your feet, both in & outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, for the majority of your work shift

· Carrying & Lifting: This role involves regular carrying or lifting of items as much as 30lbs in weight, such as bar inventory, retail supplies, cleaning supplies, as well as moving Yard equipment, furnishings, etc.

· Standing & Walking: This role requires fast-paced walking, standing for long hours and involves kneeling, squatting, and bending over.

· Weather: This role requires you to be outdoors for long, continuous periods of time and work in an un-conditioned environment where you may be in direct sunlight and high heat, rain, cold weather, etc.

Experience:

· Previous experience with dogs preferred

· Continued interest to learn more about dog behavior

· Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US

Current Operating Hours are T-Friday 4-9pm, 12-9pm Sat, 1-8pm Sun.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
