The Pidge Inn is a newer 9-room boutique hotel in Muskegon near beautiful Pere Marquette and Harbour Towne beaches. We are looking for seasonal part time people to help us clean our hotel and keep guests happy. The right candidates will be involved in many aspects of running a hotel, including cleaning, welcoming guests, inventory, etc. Our goal is to be the best hotel in West Michigan by working discerningly to take care of our guest’s needs and have an exceptionally clean and organized facility. To help us maintain this goal, we need people who enjoy taking care of people, are motivated to clean and have a positive can-do attitude. We treat our employees well and with respect.
Responsibilities
To meet/exceed guests expectations in the following areas but not limited to:
Perform indoor cleaning tasks such as changing sheets and towels, dusting, sanitizing, mopping, sweeping, laundry, cleaning windows, vacuuming, etc., in guest rooms and common areas in a timely manner.
Perform outdoor cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, cleaning windows, picking up trash on the premises, skimming the pool, etc., in a timely manner.
Ensure company standards for housekeeping, décor, uniformity in rooms, and guest services.
Greet guests when they arrive, help guests find local services and venues they might require. Inform guests of onsite amenities and any relevant information that is needed to use them.
Use a kind, positive and outgoing approach to build rapport while speaking with guests, potential guests, owners, other employees and neighbors, and while resolving guest issues. You will be treated with kindness as well.
Report and return any guest properties found while rendering service in the rooms or anywhere on the hotel property.
Coordinate duties with other staff/owners.
Code doors for guest entrance.
Keep supply inventory full and up to date.
Understand the company’s policy on work shifts and guest’s possessions and privacy.
Help train new staff.
Qualifications
Must have a high level of integrity, honesty, accountability and trust.
Must like to clean and have a heightened level of awareness and attention to detail while cleaning, sanitizing and laundering, and have excellent time-management and multitasking skills to quickly clean rooms between check-out and check-in.
Able to lift/move up to 40 pounds and use ladders, plus have the ability and stamina to move swiftly, bend and reach baseboards and under furniture.
Ability to communicate effectively and provide above and beyond customer service to a diverse clientele.
Be proactive and have the ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
Previous hotel experience is helpful but not required.
Customer service (or restaurant) and//or cleaning experience are required.
Must arrive on time for all shifts and stay until shift completion and/or next shift arrives.
Hours vary any day from 8am to 10pm.
Required to have transportation to and from work.
Required to have a phone to communicate via phone calls, texting and apps.
Knowledge of Muskegon and local attractions, outdoor activities, festivals, restaurants and shopping are helpful but not required. Must have the ability to research these items on-line.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
