Job Summary

The Bookkeeper at Yutka Fence will play a critical role in keeping our financial processes accurate, timely, and compliant. Below are some (not all) of the duties you will be responsible for:

Financial Record Keeping

  • Record and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks or other accounting systems.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
  • Track and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Payroll & Employee Records

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain records for employee hours, PTO, and related benefits.

Invoicing and Vendor Management

  • Generate and send invoices to clients.
  • Follow up on overdue payments daily.
  • Process vendor payments and manage expense tracking.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support tax filing preparation and respond to accountant requests.
  • Monitor cash flow and flag irregularities.

General Administration

  • Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

HR Support

  • Handle all new hire paperwork and separation documents.
  • Support Management in new hire recruiting efforts.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small business setting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and basic accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and reporting.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with the construction, home services, or trades industry is a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year based on experience
  • Simple IRA 3% match

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, plus additional time as needed based on business needs. Standard office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend availability may be required, but this would not be a normal occurrence.
