Job Title: Children’s Ministry Director 

Job Summary: The Children’s Ministry Pastor at First Street Church leads the spiritual development and discipleship of children within the church, fostering a love for God and a strong biblical foundation. This role involves vision casting, program leadership, volunteer development, and providing pastoral care for children and their families.

Concept: Safe, Biblical, Fun

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Spiritual Leadership:
    • Oversee the spiritual growth of children from infancy through pre-teens, ensuring teachings are biblically sound and aligned with church doctrine.
    • Preach or teach in children’s ministry services and provide age-appropriate worship experiences.
    • Pray for and provide spiritual support to children and their families.
  2. Vision and Program Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a long-term vision for the children’s ministry that aligns with the church’s mission.
    • Oversee weekly programs, 2 Sunday services, Wednesday night service, special events, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and outreach activities.
    • Create opportunities for children to participate in community service and missions.
  3. Volunteer Management:
    • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers and ministry leaders to effectively serve in the children’s ministry.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to volunteers, fostering a team culture centered on Christ’s love.
  4. Pastoral Care:
    • Provide pastoral support to children, families, and volunteers during times of joy, difficulty, or transition.
    • Build strong relationships with families to understand their needs and promote a family-centered ministry approach.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Manage the children’s ministry budget, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
    • Maintain records of attendance, child safety compliance, and program evaluations.
    • Collaborate with church staff to align children’s ministry goals with overall church objectives.
  6. Child Safety and Advocacy:
    • Ensure strict adherence to the church’s child protection policies, including background checks and training for staff and volunteers.
    • Create a safe and inclusive environment where children feel valued and respected.

Qualifications:

  • A personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for children’s ministry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in child care, child development, education, ministry, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in children’s ministry leadership, pastoral care, or a related role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A heart for serving children and their families while modeling Christ-like behavior.

Type of Job: Part Time - 30 to 32 hrs a week

Pay: Ranges from 40-48k depending on experience.
