Are you looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the medical field? Our small but busy interventional pain management practice is seeking a motivated, responsible, professional, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team.

We are a single-physician practice that provides personalized care to our patients. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, works well independently, and is interested in growing their skills and responsibilities in a clinical environment.

Position Overview

The Medical Assistant will work closely with the physician and office team to provide excellent patient care and support the clinical operations of the practice. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office.

We are willing to train the right person, but previous medical assisting or healthcare experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Room and prepare patients for physician visits

Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical histories

Assist the physician with patient examinations and procedures

Assist with patient follow-up

Update and maintain accurate patient information in the EMR

Review medications and allergies with patients

Assist with prescription requests and pharmacy communication

Coordinate imaging, referrals, and medical records

Assist with procedure scheduling

Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, physicians, and other healthcare providers

Answer phones and assist with front-desk responsibilities when needed

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Organized, punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented

Comfortable working in a busy medical environment

Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities

Basic computer skills; EMR experience is a plus

Previous Medical Assistant, healthcare, or clinical experience preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus

Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team

Reliable transportation

Students pursuing nursing, pre-med, PA, medical, or another healthcare-related career are encouraged to apply

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time availability

Weekday schedule

No weekends

Hours vary depending on the office schedule

Pay based on experience and qualifications
