Position Title: Security Officer - Unarmed; START IMMEDIATELY!

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $18.00

Shift: Graveyard

Fundamental Objective: Perform all services required to observe and report all shift activity for the purpose of protecting the assets of clients and/or people.

Level of Supervision Required: Limited supervision required.  The Security Officer will operate with full knowledge of Company and Client policies and procedures and will exhibit a high level of independence and motivation.

Job functions will generally vary from post to post, and shift to shift.  Each post will require a security officer to perform some or all of the following essential duties, responsibilities, and functions, amd may require some of the following physical requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a current State Licensed Certified Guard Card.
  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Able to tell the difference between standard colors.
  • Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at twenty (20) feet and whispered conversation at ten (10) feet, with each ear.  The use of hearing aids or other devices is permissible.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English language.
  • Write Daily Activity Reports (DARs); along with possible pictures of the post.
  • Able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to strenuous physical exertion, such as:
  1. Standing, sitting, or walking for an entire shift
  2. Climbing stairs and ladders
  3. Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to thirty (30) pounds
  4. Able to open and close latches, zippers, doors, fences/gates, and screw caps
  5. Running, jogging, speed walk short distances
  6. Reaching above the head
  7. Bending to the floor
  • Monitor and control entry/exit points.
  • Perform initial perimeter check.
  • Maintain visible presence to deter loitering.
  • Conduct perimeter checks every hour to ensure restricted areas are secured from unauthorized access.
  • Monitor high-volume equipment and material storage areas.
  • Check for signs of tampering, theft, and vandalism.
  • Ensure fire exits and emergency equipment are not obstructed.
  • Monitor security cameras (CCTV) and alarm systems, if applicable.
  • Report suspicious behavior, activities, or items.
  • Prepare detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs) every hour; including any incident, accidents, or security breaches.
  • Issue parking tickets, if applicable.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards.
  • Provide directions and information to visitors and staff.
  • Maintain professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
