As an Intern of the North Suburban YMCA, you will have the chance to work and be hands-on in a variety of projects that will communicate not only with our community but with internal communications with our members! As a non-profit organization, you will also be a part of a mission that is about giving back to our community.

It is the perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty in your field.

Professional Skill Building:

  • Learn to translate Brand Guidelines and develop the skills to properly break them.
  • Learn to process and translate Project Briefs to develop a project
  • Learn to self-start Storyboards to plan and organize your project.
  • Learn to work with other teammates and internal clients
  • You will learn and develop Effective planning techniques, organizational skills and prioritize workloads (Time and Project Management)
  • You will participate in creative meetings with the Marketing Director and other stakeholders to meet internal and external communications.
  • The ability to freely be creative within Brand Parameters and Project Requirements
  • Be able to experiment with many different styles as long as it meets Project Requirements and Brand Guidelines.
  • The ability to learn how to be efficient with time in projects.

Requirements

  • Preferably Junior or Senior standing at a College/University or Recent Graduate
  • Passion for Visual Storytelling
  • Render video footage as part of the production process
  • Video Editing
  • Experience with the Full video production process, from pre-production to post
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder.
  • Ability to brainstorm and storyboard creative video concepts
  • Ability to take direction and be a self-starter.
  • Effective editing skills
  • Ability to continue a project/template already in production.
  • Strong Project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of Video editing
  • Ability to interact with staff, members, and guests of the NSYMCA.
  • Might require attendance to certain Y-Events.
  • Must have own compatible laptop.
