Summary

Dancation Studio of Dance & Theatre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Ballet Instructor to join our team for the 2025/2026 season! We’re looking for a teacher who is not only technically strong and experienced in ballet instruction but also kind, consistent, and motivated to help our dancers become the best versions of themselves both inside and outside the studio. This role is essential in delivering high-quality dance education that enhances children's coordination, discipline, and self-confidence. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of making dance accessible and enjoyable for all.

Position Details:

• Day/Time: Thursdays, 4:30PM–9:30PM
• Ages: 5+
• Levels: Beginner through Intermediate Advanced
• Classes Taught:
• Pre-Pointe
• 2 Ballet Technique Classes
• Stretch & Strengthen

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be nurturing and friendly, while also setting clear expectations and encouraging growth.
• Have experience teaching ballet to children ages 5+ at both recreational and competitive levels.
• Be able to prepare dancers with strong foundational technique, while also inspiring their passion and discipline.
• Be reliable, consistent, and committed to the full season (September through June).
• Be comfortable managing a classroom and creating a positive, productive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience in ballet (pre-pointe or pointe experience a plus).
• Strong understanding of age-appropriate progressions and technique.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Passion for dance education and developing young dancers in a structured yet supportive setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging ballet, pre-pointe, and stretch and strengthen lesson plans tailored to students of varying skill levels.
• Manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive learning environment.
• Instruct students in ballet techniques, ensuring proper form and safety.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding performance and development.
• Organize and participate in recitals and performances to showcase student achievements. This includes music selection, music editing, costume selections, and being at the end-of-year showcase in June.
