Location: Remote/Hybrid (San Francisco Bay Area preferred)
Schedule: Flexible, 5–15 hours/week
Compensation: Volunteer (eligible for course credit, recommendation letters, community service hours, and leadership mentorship)
Duration: 3–6 months, with opportunity to extend or advance
About Us:
Culture Scholar Corporation is a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of underserved populations through music, art, cultural education, and therapeutic outreach. We work with:
- Elderly residents in senior living and memory care facilities
- People experiencing mental illness, using music and visual art for healing
- Immigrant communities, offering storytelling, music, and empowerment programs
- Individuals in recovery, helping restore confidence and purpose through creativity
Our programs include live concerts, educational workshops, storytelling initiatives, community events, and multimedia content creation aimed at healing, self-expression, and connection.
Intern Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with music and art programming for seniors and community centers
- Helping draft grant proposals and funding reports
- Supporting event planning, outreach, and logistics
- Creating or editing videos, podcasts, blogs, and social media content
- Conducting research related to music therapy, cultural arts, or public health
- Helping develop curriculum or lesson plans for workshops and online classes
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong desire to make a social impact through creative work
- Interest or background in arts, music, teaching, social work, or nonprofit service
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines
- Tech-savvy with basic experience using Google Drive, Canva, Zoom, or social media
- Creative thinking and willingness to take initiative
Bonus Skills (not required):
- Video editing, graphic design, content creation, language skills, or public speaking
