Ophthalmic Technician needed in assisting our laser eye surgery practice: performing advanced ophthalmic procedures, conducting research, refracting gathering all data analysis for exam to determent vision surgery/treatment. The center performs procedures performed nowhere else in the United States, the technician will be an active participant in utilizing advanced equipment and procedures. Office is open only weekdays, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Hourly pay varies depending on level of experience; starts at $20 an hour but salary will be commensurate with experience and ability. No matter what your past experience, you will need training in the specialty procedures we do. Ability to refract on a phoropter is mandatory as you will have to refract patients.

This is not a normal laser eye practice; you will do more and be challenged more as we perform highly complex procedures and deal with patients from all over the United States who come for our procedures.   We do not take insurance patients. We don’t have a large staff so there is a degree of autonomy, but also of responsibility as we are very careful to take care of our patients. This requires diligent attention to work, promptness, and a willingness to go the extra mile for patients.

  • Strong proficiency in Optometry and Ophthalmology terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate and efficient manual refractions using a phoropter.
