Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in the delivery of patient care. This role is essential in helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in home health environments.

Duties

  • Assist Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies to enhance recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant information in compliance with facility policies.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for patient care by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients with diverse needs.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
  • Experience in geriatrics, orthopedics, home health, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while working with patients of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in physical therapy.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Per diem, PRN

Pay: $29.17 - $31.73 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
