Farmhand: Job Description

An agricultural worker, performing daily tasks of livestock care taking on a regenerative farm. Their responsibilities include feeding, caring for and moving livestock. Farmhands also maintain farm equipment and facilities and ensure safety standards are met.

• Examples Daily Tasks
  • Load farm truck with feed and water
  • Move all poultry tractors
  • Move fence lines if needed
  • Feed & water poultry
  • Check on livestock guardian dogs
  • Collect eggs
  • Move cows/sheep to next pasture & check water & minerals
  • Prepare feed by weighing into buckets
• Examples Weekly tasks
  • Load meat birds in crates and place on truck
  • Drive meat birds to the processing facility
  • Check & Maintain fence lines
  • Maintain gator, truck, chainsaw & other equipment
• Working Conditions/Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lb buckets and bags onto a truck bed
  • Must have a valid drivers license 
  • Must be comfortable operating farm equipment (trucks, atv,etc.)
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and provide appropriate clothing for such conditions. 
  • Must be comfortable working around large and small animals
  • Have the ability to observe potential issues and take action
